Paula and Alex, friends for years, are having dinner at a charming restaurant in historic downtown Bluffton, South Carolina. It’s a typical June balmy evening. Life in the Low Country doesn’t get any better than this...
You know how it is when two creative friends get together – all of a sudden, out of nowhere, ideas burst forth. Alex, a true Southerner, has been living in the Low Country for four years. She is in the final planning stages and getting ready to build her forever dream home. Paula, really a California girl, moved to the South over twenty years ago. In addition to going through the process many times herself, she often finds herself advising friends and family on every aspect of the building, remodeling and design process. And she has been happily assisting her new-favorite client (of course it’s Alex!) from the beginning.
If you’re like us, you are a real estate voyeur, you love good design, unlacquered brass and love to see what other people are coming up with.
We realized that it would be more fun for us to share the process of building a home in the Low Country with anyone who wants to follow along. If you’re like us, you are a real estate voyeur, you love good design, unlacquered brass and love to see what other people are coming up with.
Our Interpretation of Low Country Living
Over dinner, we coined our name of Low Country Maison, exploring lifestyles of southern hospitality with gracious European influences. It just felt right.... everything happens for a reason. As we exited the restaurant, what did we see across the street? None other than a 3-foot replica of the Tour Eiffel. Think this was meant to be?? We hope so.
